Kim Soo-lin, who won two gold medals at the 41st Presidential National Games in July, shot the best score in the recurve women’s event with a total of 2,721 points.
Park Joo-hyuk (Gwangju), meanwhile, shot a total of 2,661 points in the qualifier to finish 64th, earning a spot on the second qualification list alongside his older brother and sister.
In the men’s compound, Kang Dong-hyun (Hyundai Steel) and Kim Soo-in (Seoul Girls’ High School) finished first and second, respectively.
The 64 men’s and women’s athletes who passed the first round of selection will compete in the second round of selection for the 2024 archery team, which will take place from October 30 to November 4 at the Gwangju International Archery Center.
The final roster for next year’s Paris Olympics will be determined after three rounds of selection.
This year’s archers, who will compete at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games and the Asian Championships in November, will compete in the third selection round scheduled for March next year.
