Major League Baseball may have its first female manager. The San Francisco Giants have conducted an official managerial interview with assistant coach Alyssa Nackin.
Andrew Baggalli, a reporter for The Athletic and a leading source for Major League Baseball, broke the news of Nackin’s interview with the Giants on social media on Tuesday (Aug. 16).
The Giants fired manager Gabe Kepler at the end of the season, leaving a vacancy at the top of the organization. The team has been interviewing a number of candidates, and it appears that Nackin is on the list.메이저사이트
Nakin is currently an assistant coach in San Francisco. A former softball player, she worked her way up from assistant to full-time coach in 2020. This season, she has been responsible for game planning, infield and outfield training, and more.

Nakin has already made Major League Baseball history by breaking the Goldilocks Wall. On April 13 of last year, she took the field as the pinch-hitting coach for a regular-season game against San Diego. After first base coach Anton Richardson was ejected for arguing with the umpire, Nakin stepped in to fill the void. “She made history,” many local media outlets wrote. The first woman to play in a major league game,” among other headlines.
MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball, reported, “Nakin is one of the internal candidates to replace Kepler after he was fired. Third base coach Mark Holmberg and bench coach Kai Correa have also reportedly interviewed for the job.”

In recent years, Major League Baseball has hired many female coaches to break down gender barriers. Rachel Valkovec is the minor league manager of the New York Yankees and Jamie Vieira is the minor league coach of the Toronto Blue Jays.
Major League Baseball is pushing for diversity. And Nakin is making history as a trailblazer. Fans are eager to see if she can become the first female manager in Major League Baseball history, as she has been interviewed by the organization.
