‘Three tournaments in parallel’ Incheon, big bad news… Shin Shin-ho + Delbridge ‘out for the season’

Two of Incheon United’s key players have been ruled out for the season.

“Delbridge (right femoral adductor tendon) and Shin Shin-ho (right ankle) have been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to injuries,” Incheon United announced on the club’s official website.

Shin and Delbridge were arguably the core of Incheon’s 2023 season, performing well in the midfield and defense, respectively, and helping the team rise.스포츠토토

However, after the 31st round against Gangwon FC and the 30th round against Jeju United, Shin was no longer on the field. Tests revealed that Shin was suffering from a right ankle and Delbridge from a right femoral adductor tendon, ruling him out for the remainder of the season.

The good news is that Lee Myung-joo is not out for the season. “Lee Myung-joo, who was injured in the last round 34 match against Pohang, was fortunately diagnosed with a partial tear of the medial ligament in his left knee and will be rehabilitated for a quick return,” the club explained.

Assuming Lee Myung-joo is out for the time being, Incheon is left with three departures. Incheon is currently juggling three competitions: the K League 1, the FA Cup, and the Asian Champions League. There is nothing to lose in any of them. In the league, they have a shot at fourth place, and in the FA Cup, they’ve made it to the quarterfinals and should challenge for the title. The Asian Champions League is also cruising along with two wins, so we’re getting closer to qualifying for the tournament. In this situation, the departure of the main players is obviously painful.
